František Balátě (1889-1965)

Colonel František Balátě of the Czechoslovak army was born in Český Brod. He passed through
the Serbian, French and Italian legions and distinguished himself in many battles. In the interwar period he worked as a construction director in Brno, later at the Directorate of Roads and Motorways in Prague.During the war, František Balátě actively participated in the anti-Nazi resistance, after which he was called to the Ministry of National Defense.
